First prepare the pie fillers and allow to cool.

- Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
- Making the Dough
- Add baking powder salt to a bowl of self-raising flour and mix, add softened butter and mix till to have a crumbly mixture.
- Add half of the beaten egg to the flour mixture and set with a wooden spoon. Add one teaspoon of water or milk as you kneed the dough mixture.
- Lightly flour the worktop and roll out the dough until it is about 2mm thick then Cut out in preferred shapes [circles are preferable} and place 1 or 2 teaspoons of the meat and potato filler.
- Fold dough over and seal dough’s edge together with a fork.
- Lightly brush top of pies with the rest of the beaten egg. Place on baking parchment or lightly buttered oven tray and place in the oven for 35 minutes or until slightly brown.
- Serve hot with a beverage drink.
Tip
Be careful with the amount of water or milk used on the dough to prevent it from becoming too sticky, but if this happens, add a little flour or put it in the fridge to cool.
