Olympic gold medalist Greg Louganis declared that he and Johnny Chaillot are heading out in a different direction. The 61-year-old plunging champion took to Instagram to share the report about their separation on Friday evening, June 18.

“As of now, Johnny and I wish to share that we are deferentially and commonly finishing our marriage,” Greg’s assertion started. “Marriage among all couples is usually difficult, and, especially during #pridemonth, it’s significant that we say that we were so thankful to be among the primary gay couples to have the advantage to wedding lawfully, and face these difficulties so many do. It’s something not very far in the past that a large number of us were sure could never occur.”

He proceeded, “Thus, we make this declaration considering the request the regard and security of anybody heading down this new street we should embrace. It is because of every individual who has upheld and sustained us these years.”

Greg and Johnny met through the dating app Match and got select in 2012. By October 2013, the couple got married in Malibu, Calif., only four months after they got ready for marriage. Greg initially rose to notoriety after winning gold awards at the 1984 and 1988 Summer Olympic Games. Named as the “world’s best jumper” ever, the commended competitor is the solitary man and second jumper in the Olympics to clear the plunging contest in successive Olympic Games. Alongside his games achievements, Greg has composed various books, acted in a few movies and is a LGBTQIA+ dissident.
